Specification for Aluminium

Used Beverage Cans (UBCs)

UBCs must be magnetically sorted before baling/briquetting to remove all steel cans and should be free of all contaminants, such as: steel, lead, iron, plastics, sand, paper, glass, foil, dirt, grease - or any other foreign substance.

Aerosols

We will only accept depressurised aluminium aerosols, evenly mixed with UBCs, up to a maximum 2% by weight.

The amount of aerosols contained in each delivery will be strictly monitored. To ensure your load is not rejected, please ensure that deliveries containing aerosols comply with the following terms:

• The aluminium aerosols must be distributed evenly across the whole load. You must not send whole biscuits or bales of aluminium aerosols.
• The aluminium aerosols must be depressurised by being put through a baling press.
• The aluminium aerosols must be empty of all contents prior to baling.
• The plastic cap must be removed before baling (the plastic valve is acceptable).
