Problems caused by non-ferrous metals:
- Copper, brass, bronze and other non-ferrous metals will contaminate can sheet alloy, even in extremely small amounts.
- Stray objects can damage processing equipment, in particular in the shredding operation.
Many non-ferrous metals command a higher value when sold separately.
