Our Recycling Operation
Novelis operates Europe's largest dedicated used aluminium beverage can (UBC) recycling plant.
The plant, based in Warrington, Cheshire, produces ingots for the beverage can manufacturing industry and has the capacity to recycle 130,000 tonnes of UBCs per annum - more than every aluminium drink can sold in the UK. The UK can market is approx. 80,000 tonnes per year - equivalent to five billion cans.
A driving force in the aluminium recycling industry
Novelis Recycling has been driving the development of the UK's infrastructure for aluminium can recycling in the UK for 17 years. The company purchases UK-sourced aluminium cans and foil for recycling.
